A substantial five-bedroom family residence designed as a contemporary interpretation of traditional Federation architecture, responding to the established residential character and leafy landscape of Wahroonga. The design carefully integrates with a steeply sloping, bushfire-prone site, incorporating the natural topography, significant trees and northern orientation to optimise residential amenity, privacy and landscape connections. The symmetrical gabled roof and wrap-around verandah reinterpret traditional architectural elements while accommodating contemporary family living.
My Role: Involved in the project from initial concept design through to Development Application (DA) approval and Construction Certificate (CC) documentation. Responsibilities included site analysis, design development, planning control assessment, architectural design, consultant coordination and 3D visualisation. Developed design solutions addressing site topography, bushfire requirements, significant tree preservation, solar access, privacy and integration with the surrounding streetscape.
