An urban design proposal focused on improving pedestrian accessibility and transforming Avenida Paulista, one of São Paulo’s main urban thoroughfares, into a more pedestrian-friendly and inclusive public space.
The project explored the integration of an accessible pedestrian network, with a proposed underground tunnel crossing to improve connectivity and pedestrian movement beneath the avenue. By relocating pedestrian circulation underground at key points, the proposal aimed to reduce conflicts with vehicular traffic and reclaim surface space for public use.
The design also introduced new urban spaces and opportunities for public interaction, enhancing walkability, connectivity and the overall urban experience along the avenue.
